August, 2003 Three of these high school girls desided to surprise one of their friends with a long-wished-for horse ride as a birthday gift. The birthday-girl was delighted. (One of the friends who had never ridden before thought the ride would be "boring" but was very pleasantly surprised: She said the ride was a lot more fun (and interesting) than she thought it would be. The four friends decided that they would plan for another ride when the fall colors turn in September and one in the snow in the winter. (If you can enjoy skiing or sledding, you can enjoy horse riding in the winter.) |

June, 2003 This young lady is 10. Her grandfather gave her a horseback ride for her birthday (Dad came riding too.) She loves horses, but has never had much opportunity to actually be around them. She was very excited on this day. About half way into her hour ride, she said, "I think this is the best day of my life." She then asked if she could take "her horse" Teddy Bear home with her. I told her that a lot of other people would be sad if Teddy Bear left, but that her father could bring her to our ranch anytime they wanted so she could hug Teddy Bear and give him a treat. (Dad was riding Tzadik). |

June, 2003 A horse trainer we know had two friends who wanted to ride, but were totally inexperienced at riding. We had the horse trainer ride Big Boy and the young lady rode Rags-to-Riches. and the gentleman rode Teddy Bear. The horse without a rider is Scarlet (I was taking the picture.) As you can see, the mountians are looking great this year. |

June, 2003 Grandma (who boards a horse on our place) wanted her four granddaughers to have a horse-riding experience. We gave the two youngest girls rides by leading a horse with them in the saddle. The two older girls (6 and 8) each rode a horse by themselves. Mary, the 6-year-old, is on the sorrel (red) horse (Teddy Bear) and Taia is on the gray (Rags-to-Riches). |

June, 2003 This ride was a belated birthday present for a young lady. She is riding Teddy Bear. Her dad is riding Tzadik and her sister is riding Fletch. We went for just an hour and a half, but we got to see some gorgeous country. |

May, 2003 Talon is my 5-year-old grandson. He loves the horses and helping Grandpa on the farm. (My grandkids call me "Papa Horse" for some reason.) Talon's mom decided he needed regular lessons, so he is starting the series. He is riding Teddy Bear. |

April, 2003 This lady had just retired. She told me that she had a list of things she wanted to do, now that her time was her own. She said that riding a horse was the second thing on her list. (Jumping out of a plane was the first.) She is riding Tzadik and we are looking at a view of Utah Valley from near Santiquin Canyon. | ||
